چکیده

1. Introduction Diffusion, i.e. the irregular movement of molecules, is quantified by measuring the rate of molecular fluxes in the direction of falling concentration. In contrast to intuition, considering methanol diffusion in a novel type of nanoporous material (MOF ZIF-8) this rate has now been found to be enhanced rather than slowed down by an opposing flux of labelled molecules [1,2]. In terms of the key quantities of random particle movement, this result means that the self-diffusivity exceeds the transport diffusivity. It is rationalized by considering the strong inter-molecular interaction and the dominating role of inter-cage hopping in mass transfer in the systems under study.

Application of Markov-Chain Analysis and Stirred Tanks in Series Model in Mathematical Modeling of Impinging Streams Dryers

In spite of the fact that the principles of impinging stream reactors have been developed for more than half a century, the performance analysis of such devices, from the viewpoint of the mathematical modeling, has not been investigated extensively. In this study two mathematical models were proposed to describe particulate matter drying in tangential impinging stream dryers. The models were de...

The Open-Access Journal for the Basic Principles of Diffusion Theory, Experiment and Application Estimation of the Size of Alcohol Clusters through PFG NMR Diffusion Measurement

1. Introduction Simple alcohols form supramolecular clusters that are held together by hydrogen bonding between their hydroxyl groups. In order to determine their size we propose a novel combination of experimental and computational methodologies. The experimental methodology is based on PFG NMR. The theoretical approach consists of quantum chemical calculations that provide input for HydroNMR ...
